About Srta. T
¡Hola! My name is Amy T and I currently teach 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Spanish 1 and 2 in Northern Illinois and I just started my 9th year teaching Spanish. I have also taught in Iowa. This is my 5th year working with CI methods in the Spanish classroom. I have been using full standards-based scoring for the past 7 years.
I am also a second year student in the M.Ed. in World Language Instruction program at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. And this is my second year starting to implement methods I am learning in the program such as Integrated Performance Assessments, Content Based Instruction, 'beefing' up traditional thematic units with authentic resources and social justice topics, the IMAGE model, & the PACE model. This past Summer I spent 2 weeks at an intensive grad school experience taking classes and observing at the Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, MN. This Fall and spring I am working on my thesis and I am planning to graduate in May 2023. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Secondary Education from the University of Iowa 2013. While at the U. of Iowa I studied abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica and Seville, Spain. In 2019 I also got to experience a teacher trip to Ecuador. I can't wait to travel again and hope to visit more Spanish Speaking countries! In my free time I love to spend time with my dog, Finn, and my family, read, watch TV/Movies and travel! |
